Cooking style
Many of my dishes have been influenced by cultures around the world where I have lived. I have been able to experience their cuisine first hand. I specialize in healthy cuisine using only the freshest, seasonal, and sustainable products.
Experience
My love for cooking began six years ago while I was traveling in Salzburg, Austria. As my travels came to an end, I decided the next step in my journey was to try my hand at cooking. Upon my return to the states, I signed up and dove into the art. I attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program in Portland, Oregon and graduated with honors at the top of my class.
After graduating from culinary school, I ventured down to California where I completed an internship in San Diego’s premier seafood restaurant, “The Oceanaire.” I had the privilege of working alongside “San Diego’s Top Chef,” Brian Malarkey. While in San Diego I was given the opportunity to work on private yachts in the Bahamas. For the next seven years I cooked on the most prestigious yachts and in kitchens all over the world. I quickly gained a reputation in the yachting community as being a healthy, gourmet chef and became an inspiration for other chefs in the industry.
In 2012 I was fortunate enough to spend a year and a half embarking on a culinary exploration through India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Japan. While visiting each of these countries, I had the opportunity to study Indian and S.E. Asian cuisines while working with local chefs. Together we tested new recipes and exchanged culinary techniques. I was able to participate in cooking classes, as well as prepare and cook in kitchens which served both tourists and locals alike.
For the past year, I have been exploring and cooking around the the world to film Trading Dishes; a travel and cooking show I created, which focuses on nutrition and food availability across the globe. I have been able to learn first hand how food can bring families together.
The knowledge I have gained through my culinary journey is irreplaceable and more valuable than I could have ever imagined. I am now an avid gardener and grow all my own spices, herbs, vegetables and fruits in my gardens.
