A Toledo native, Chef Tonya has always had a strong passion for the culinary world, a gift she inherited from her family’s history of living in the deep hollers’’ of the Appalachians.
Chef Tonya graduated with a CWC certification from high school and dove right into the restaurant world. Two years later, she enrolled into Culinary School in Pittsburgh. Upon graduation, she completed her externship at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
Chef Tonya really began her focus into institutional and higher education facilities in 2005 after accepting a position as a Chef Manager at The University of Toledo. In 2010 Chef Tonya relocated herself to Sterling, Colorado where she helped create the concept, menu and recipes for a local restaurant opening up. Chef Tonya also hosted culinary classes at a local church in Colorado.
In 2013, Chef Tonya relocated back to Ohio and has maintained working as a Chef at nursing facilities, institutions and higher education. She is just as passionate about food today as she was when she first began her journey.
Chef Tonya is a humanitarian at heart. She loves to educate and help others on their journey to becoming a better version of themselves by teaching about nutrition and portion control. Chef Tonya believes in a holistic approach to a nutritional lifestyle change. She also realizes that everyone’s body and mindset is different, when working one on one with Chef Tonya; she will help guide your decisions and make a manageable goal together.
