I attribute my cooking style to my life experiences. Naturally, growing up in a northern Minnesota town and being of Scandinavian decent, I spent a good part of my childhood eating casseroles and very hearty rustic classic American dishes. I learned the ins and outs of those dishes and although they are simple in nature they still hold a special place in my heart. However, As an adult and professional chef, I have spent the most time in the geographical polar opposite. I'm talking about Middle eastern and Indian cuisine. Rich, spicy and aromatic dishes.

My passion for the culinary arts started when I was very young, cooking in the kitchen with my grandma and has continued on into my adult years becoming the focus of my career path. This journey into the culinary world has allowed me to work in many different kitchens, including: a resort in northern Minnesota, an international language camp, Classical American, Irish, Italian and Fusion Restaurants. In the past 10 years I've done it all: washing dishes, catering mass quantity special events and banquets, sous and head chef positions. Cooking is not just a job to me and so I spend most of my days off cooking in my own kitchen, exploring and experimenting with new and old recipes.
